Xylitol is one of my preferred choices for a sugar replacement to use with diabetics, weight loss programs, and candida patients. I've found that different people prefer different sweeteners and do better on some than others. Xylitol is definitely one I recommend trying. I also vary it up with stevia, agave, and vegetable glycerine, and am currently learning about a few other newer healthy sweeteners. One thing is for sure, we know that artificial sweeteners (sucralose and aspartame) are some of the worst products you can consume for your health, so instead try one of these natural sweeteners. One extra benefit from using xylitol is that it is actually healthy for your teeth (check your toothepaste label). Therefore I chew on xylitol gum in the morning and sometimes before bed.

Xylitol (“ZY-litol”) is a natural sweetener that is made from Birch tree bark and corn husks and tastes just like sugar, but has 40% less calories and creates no sugar highs or lows! You can mix it into hot or cold beverages or bake with it using it in the same quantity as you would sugar (i.e. 1 Tbsp sugar= 1 Tbsp Xylitol). Also, Xylitol does not feed intestinal yeast, and does not raise insulin or blood sugar levels. This makes it a perfectly healthy sugar replacement for diabetics, low carbohydrate dieters, and heart disease patients who must keep their sugar consumption to a bare minimum.

This product does not contain: wheat, yeast, soy protein, gluten, eggs, dairy, corn, artificial colors, flavors, sugars, or preservatives. Designs for Health Xylitol Powder contains no binders or fillers of any kind.
Note: This product is intended for human consumption only. Dogs in particular are unable to properly metabolize xylitol.
